Roles and Responsibilities

For the last 25 years I have been working in Higher Education, with The Open University, The University of Dundee and currently Heriot-Watt University. I started as a lecturer in Geography and Environmental Sciences then became interested in widening participation and moved into a more academic related role working on projects to increase the number of students from non-traditional academic backgrounds. I then moved to a more School/Faculty role and have worked for the last ten years as the School Manager for Engineering, Maths and Computing at both Dundee and Heriot-Watt Universities. During this time I also trained as a Mediator for workplace and student disputes. In 2014 I relocated to live in the Borders and was given the opportunity of joining the School of Textiles and Design as the Director of Administration. My hobbies include climbing; archery, opera and gardening.
