Roles and Responsibilities
Assistant Professor in Fashion Technology
I am the Director of Studies for Fashion Technology at the School of Textiles and Design in Galashiels. Within this role I oversee the Fashion Technology programme, Industrial placements and also Industry collaborations.
I studied for my undergraduate degree, BSc (Hons) Clothing Design & Manufacture, at Heriot-Watt University before spending twelve years running my own design and production company creating bespoke garments for clients from all over the world. I’ve also studied at masters level in Management Studies (Napier University Edinburgh) and Academic Practice (Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh).
I lecture primarily in design development, pattern cutting and garment construction to undergraduate and post graduate students. My personal research interests include creative pattern cutting and design process. I’ve also curated the annual Graduate Fashion Show for the last three years.
