Rosey Gregg, a final year student on our BA (Hons) Design for Textiles programme has been on a winning journey this year; at the start of the semester, she was awarded a company bursary of £2,500 from The Worshipful Company of Framework Knitters. It was a tough process and after applying, she was up against 60 students from top universities throughout the UK. Rosey then had an hour long interview with three members of The Worshipful Company of Framework Knitters and was delighted when they informed her that she won the bursary.
Spurred on by her success, she was asked to attend the Manchester Antique and Vintage Textiles Fair where she and two other students from different institutions presented their work to four judges, as well as the public. This time it was The Textile Society who were judging and Rosey found out this week she’s been awarded the £500 Student Bursary.
Rosey said, “This was a great opportunity to be able to talk about my honours project, as well as hearing people’s thoughts and advice for the future.”
Huge congratulations to Rosey, we’re really proud of what she’s achieved – what a great ambassador for our School.
Rosie will be exhibiting her work at our degree show #Transform18 at the end of May, we’d love to see you there (£5 for tickets incl. fashion show, glass of fizz and programme); you can buy tickets here. Alternatively the static exhibition will have free entry the following week details here.
