Graduation Day is all about celebrating the achievements of all our graduates.
We also give special prizes for those who have proven to be outstanding in certain areas. Listed below are this year’s prizewinners:
Student response and presentation of the Graduates’ Teaching Award.
The Graduates’ Teaching Award is presented by the University Student Union to a member of the academic staff who has been nominated by graduating students in Schools. The award is made in recognition of the quality of teaching and support received by students and in recognition of the dedication of staff who are committed to improving the students experience.
Lucy Graham, Vice-President of the Student Union for the Scottish Borders Campus presented the prize to: Bruce Roberts (Fashion Technology). Well done to Bruce – very well deserved.
Presentation of the Watt Club Medal.
The Watt Club, founded in 1854, is the Graduate and Alumni Association of Heriot-Watt University. The Watt Club Medal is awarded annually to those students who have achieved the greatest distinction in their undergraduate honours degree course.
The silver medal is Heriot-Watt University’s premier award for undergraduate students.
Mr N Chipakupaku, President of the Watt Club, presented the prize to: Sarah McCann. Congratulations Sarah.

Awarded to the best overall final year student on the BA (Hons) Design for Textiles programme: Caitlyn Taylor Devlin.
The Incorporation of Bonnetmakers and Dyers of Edinburgh Prize:
Awarded to a fourth year student for the best project: Veronica Skivington, BA (Hons) Design for Textiles.
The Incorporation of Bonnetmakers and Dyers of Glasgow Prize:
Awarded to fourth year students for the best projects: Sarah McCann, BA (Hons) Design for Textiles and Danielle McLeary, BSc (Hons) Fashion Technology.
The Worshipful Company of Dyers of the City of London Award:
Awarded to final year students on the BA (Hons) Design for Textiles programme: Lanya Davis; Rosey Gregg; Alison Hally and Lauren Moffat.
The Worshipful Company of Woolmen of the City of London Award:
Awarded to the best honours graduate on the BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing and Retailing programme: Ailidh MacLean.
The Scottish Borders manufacturers Corporation Medal:
Awarded to the best BSc Fashion Technology student: Emilia Bryant.
