His project was ‘An Investigation into the Measurement, Prediction and Elimination of Seam Pucker’.
‘The contribution of this research is to investigate the equilibrium condition between the physical and low stress mechanical properties of the fabric and sewing thread in the stitched assembly to elude seam pucker, specifically the causes of seam pucker which are related to the lightweight woven fabrics stitched at a single needle lock stitch sewing machine with commercially available sewing threads. The present thesis is also recommending a quantitative approach to calculate the required amount of stiffener grade under the seam line to eliminate seam pucker.’
