The School of Textiles and Design’s partnership with Old Navy, part of the GAP group based in San Francisco means our students get to work on live projects for the third year running. Each year, Old Navy invite design interns, from a pre-selected group of top universities from around the world, to live and work at the Global HQ in San Francisco over a period of three months.
Last year, our winner, Sarah McCann, fourth year BA (Hons) Design for Textiles, had an an amazing experience and has landed her dream job at Old Navy in San Fransisco as a result. She will take up the position of Assistant Print Designer in November this year and we wish her the best of luck in her new American adventure.
The winning student this year is Heather Wilkie, a third year BA (Hons) Design for Textiles student and she’ll be taking up her internship over the summer holidays.
Our industry partnerships, here at the School, ensure that students work on these live projects which open doors all over the world. Our relationship with Old Navy has gone from strength to strength and gives the students these incredible opportunities.
Congratulations Heather and Sarah, we are so proud of you.
