This year’s #Transform18 show was a sell-out; it started on Friday with the VIP/Industry event, which was a great success and went well into the evening when friends and family joined in the fun.
The Friday morning had been tense but exciting with Radio Borders, ITV Borders and a few roaming press photographers doing interviews and taking photos.
Once the guests arrived, the exhibitions were a hive of activity and the industry guests were impressed with the work on display. The fashion shows were held in our sewing workshop, again this year, but with a different catwalk format instead of the salon shows. The professional models rocked the runway and there were audible gasps from the watching crowd.
Saturday, as usual, was the busiest day with us welcoming the public, along with friends, family and students who were in a celebratory mood.
We added an extra show on the Saturday evening to cope with the record-breaking ticket sales and we streamed it live through Facebook so those who couldn’t attend were able to join in.
Our partnership with ‘Born in the Borders’ meant we had locally brewed beer, locally distilled gin and plenty of Prosecco which was in full flow, on both days.
It was a lovely way to celebrate the end of an era for our final year students and a great opportunity to showcase the work of the School of Textiles and Design.
Thanks to all involved for making it a weekend to remember.
Come and meet us at one of our Open Days.
