It’s not just our students brimming with talent, Director of BA (Hons) Design for Textiles, Mark Parker, was recently invited to display his work as part of an illustration exhibition in Beijing hosted by the RCII (Research Center of International Illustration) and Prince Gong’s Mansion, Ministry of Culture, China.
The exhibition is sponsored by one of our partner universities, Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology (BIFT) along with Tsinghua University and aims to ‘provide illustrators with an international platform to show themselves, so they can passionately devote themselves to creative ideas…’
The exhibition invited 25-30 famous artists from around the world to participate and Mark was one of them.
Mark teaches here at the School of Textiles and Design and researches the role of drawing on the printed textile curriculum by using archive sources.
