Hear about the programme from our Assistant Professor and current students.

MA Knitwear (Design, Heritage and Production) is open to students from a fashion, textiles or fashion technology background, who wish to extend and focus their individual design skills. We aim to achieve a balance between taught material, acquisition of key skills with applied practical exploration and enquiry into current industry expectations.

Students on the Masters will evaluate traditional and contemporary knitwear design and production practices to inform their own designs. Industrial collaborations are core to the programme, including industry visits to many of the luxury knitwear mills in the area.
