Fashion design from initial research through to collection creation and production
Our Fashion programme is positioned uniquely within a specialist learning environment within The School of Textiles & Design, allowing access to to industry standard fashion and textiles equipment for you to get the best education in the field and offers access to cross disciplinary collaborations, pushing the boundaries of creativity.
Working closely with staff, you are guided through the complete fashion design creative process from design research, ideation, concept development, pattern cutting and garment completion. Our course offers the opportunity to explore a wide range of markets, from high-street to high-end and helps you to understand the fundamental implications this can have on the design decision making process. As a student you will have the opportunity to showcase your work through competitions, industry collaborative projects and the graduate shows.
Studying at the School of Textiles & Design allows students to develop their own personal style as a designer and teaches key skills as a creative professional through a number of live collaborative projects with industry.
As a student you will develop a suite of skills practiced to a professional standard ready for the workplace. Our graduates have the opportunity to work in a number of areas within field, including roles in fashion design, pattern cutting, trend forecasting and fashion retail roles.
