We are hosting Common Purpose’s Global Leader Experience (GLE) in January, in collaboration with University at Albany (New York) and have 30 free places for Heriot-Watt UK campus-based students on undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes.
The GLE allows you to develop your ability to lead from a truly global perspective. Along with students from other universities you will play a part in tackling the biggest issues facing businesses, governments and societies worldwide.
PLEASE NOTE: You must be able to commit to full-day attendance throughout the programme. Therefore, you will need special permission to be absent from any classes timetabled for 9-12 January 2018. Please ensure you have permission from your School before you apply.
Why should you take part?
· To be a global leader now – develop your skills and Cultural Intelligence (the ability to cross divides and thrive in multiple cultures)
· To change the world – bring fresh solutions to complex problems
· To develop networks – with the breadth of relationships needed for success today
· To build your CV – add a valuable experience that employers are seeking.
What does it involve?
You will explore a major world Challenge “How do smart cities ensure they are inclusive?” from a local perspective. You will meet visionary leaders from global businesses, governments and international not-for-profit organizations. This will help you and your fellow participants understand the Challenge and find creative ideas to solve it.
Best of all, you won’t be alone; you will build international connections and make new friends. In addition, the solutions and knowledge you build will be passed to participants on other Common Purpose programmes around the world.
Who can apply?
The GLE is open to all Heriot-Watt UK campus-based students (including Erasmus and Exchange students) on undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes.
