The programme content challenges traditional and contemporary uses of fashion and textiles, as well as creating the opportunity, through well-resourced workshops, to promote new approaches and processes in fashion and textiles. Students concentrate on an appropriate area of study to acquire knowledge and expertise in an area of fashion and textiles that is conducive to their individual project intentions. Staff knowledge and expertise span the full spectrum from design to manufacture, context to management, technology to creativity and practice to theory.

Our Graduates

Our graduates have gone on to work with top international companies and designers including Jasper Conran, Calvin Klein, Habitat, Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, Next, Nike, O’Neill, Pringle, Rip Curl. Graduates work in a wide range of careers such as textile design; fashion design; design and product development; management and marketing within the global industry; and in textile technology and related developments.

Chai Yangran, Masters graduate 2005, has set up a studio and two boutiques in China and Australia with business partner Zhang Xin, selling their ‘Raphen’ highstreet fashion brand and ‘Rani&Stephen’ high-end fashion brand.
